Location: Badakshan Total Beneficiaries: 7500 Main Activities: This project aimed to provide cash assistance with hygiene and water kits to vulnerable communities including Hygiene Promotion, Training Development, printing and distribution of Hygienic IEC materials, along with Combining modality of assistance through cash assistance and in-kind support for the construction of latrine and cleaning kit, besides that this project had a component of water by tankers in places where are camp situation or no functional water resources exist, Installation of new emergency bore wells with hand pumps Quick Fixing/rehabilitated/upgraded of Existing water source (Bore Wells, Dug wells, Shallow Wells, etc.) Water quality testing and treatment to targeted communities. Goals: The overall goal of the response was to provide life-saving support to conflict-affected IDPs and their host communities. This intervention addressed the emergency WASH needs of conflict-affected IDP of Badakhshan province. Key achievements: The achievement of this project was the successful provision of comprehensive water and sanitation support to vulnerable communities. including the provision of cash assistance with hygiene and water kits, hygiene promotion, training development, printing and distribution of hygienic IEC materials, as well as combining modality of assistance through cash assistance and in-kind support for the construction of latrine and cleaning kit. Overall, the project was successful in providing a range of water and sanitation interventions to vulnerable communities, which improved access to clean water and sanitation facilities, promoted good hygiene practices, and reduced the risk of water-borne diseases in targeted districts of Badakhshan province.
